We met the first day of high school at a two day retreat that was meant to help our class bond together. Mostly it was just an awkward time for the transfer students, and a time for returning students to hang out and catch up on summer escapades without any parents listening in. I approached Spencer because I thought he was cute, and I actually wanted to meet some new students - especially the guys. We hit it off and our friendship grew throughout high school. After that first meeting, Spencer told me that he had decided that day that he would ask me to our senior prom. He did, and it didn't stop there.
